Genevieve Ko

L.A. Times

Genevieve Ko is the cooking editor for the Los Angeles Times. She has written over a dozen cookbooks with notable chefs and is the author of “Better Baking.” Ko graduated from Yale University and has been a food writer, editor and recipe developer for national food media outlets, including NYT Cooking. She was born and raised in Monterey Park on dim sum, onigiri and chimichangas.

Gustavo Arellano

L.A. Times

Gustavo Arellano is a features writer for the Los Angeles Times, covering Southern California everything and a bunch of the West and beyond. He previously worked at OC Weekly, where he was an investigative reporter for 15 years and editor for six, wrote a column called ¡Ask a Mexican! and is the author of “Taco USA: How Mexican Food Conquered America.” He’s the child of two Mexican immigrants, one of whom came to this country in the trunk of a Chevy.

He has written three cookbooks and has worked as a food editor and recipe developer for several food media publications, such as Lucky Peach, Food & Wine, Saveur, and Buzzfeed/Tasty. Jenn Harris

Jenn Harris is a senior writer for the Los Angeles Times Food section. She has a bachelor’s in literary journalism from the UC Irvine and a master’s in journalism from the University of Southern California. Harris covers restaurant news, dining trends, chefs and cocktails. She’s also the unofficial fried chicken queen of Los Angeles. She once visited 22 bars and restaurants in a single day for a story. Tony Esnault

Knife Pleat

Chef Tony Esnault has a stellar resume including stints at numerous Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe and New York. Growing up on a farm in the south of France, he learned at an early age to appreciate seasonal ingredients and regional French cooking. At the Ritz Carlton Boston, his reinvention of the hotel restaurant earned him “Best Hotel Chef of America” and the restaurant four AAA Diamonds and four Mobil Stars. Esnault relocated to Los Angeles in 2009 to take the helm at Patina in the Frank Gehry-designed Walt Disney Concert Hall. A year later, Patina was awarded an exceptionally rare four-star review by the Los Angeles Times.

Wing Lam

Wahoo’s Fish Tacos

A 37-year restaurant veteran, Wing Lam is the eldest of three founding brothers of the Wahoo’s Fish Taco brand. Wing serves on the board of various non-profit organizations such as Share Our Strength, Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and Surfrider Foundation and is an active member of the Asian American Journalists Association. In 2018, he received the Corporate Creativity, Kindness OC Award and Innovation Leadership Award from the Child Creativity Lab, as well as the 2018 IMPACT Award from the International Executive Council. Wing and his brothers have been named among the 500 Most Influential by the Orange County Business Journal.
