Enrique Olvera Award Show Preview 

Join international chef Enrique Olvera and Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frias de la Parra for an evening of fun conversation around food and entertainment. Enjoy a 4-course gourmet Mexican meal from chef Enrique’s Cosme restaurant in New York and Damian in Los Angeles.

Cosme and Damian, the bicoastal twins, will be preparing different takes on the same Mexican menu using local ingredients and recognizing the unique seasonality of each city. Guests will tune in to an exciting conversation hosted by L.A. Times Entertainment Columnist Carolina A. Miranda while enjoying the meal. Plus, L.A. Times celebrity photographer Jay L. Clendenin will share a behind the scenes look at this year's nominees and afterwards, stay tuned to watch a talk with some of the best film directors of 2020.

Pizza & Wine Party with Eric Wareheim

For this exciting L.A. Times Dinner Series event, join actor, writer, producer, winemaker and pizza aficionado Eric Wareheim for a Pizza & Wine Party taking place across three cities with chefs Daniele Uditi (Pizzana, L.A.), Thomas McNaughton (Flour & Water, S.F.), and Joe Beddia (Pizzeria Beddia, Philadelphia).

The evening will include a pizza from the nation’s best pizza makers, available from a local restaurant in each city, paired with a bottle of Las Jaras’ Glou Glou wine. Glou Glou is a chuggable, light red that tastes like sparkles and bright summer fruit. Glou Glou has enough acid to stand up to your favorite tomato sauce, as well as intense berry notes that complement the char of a perfectly cooked pizza crust. The Pizza & Wine Party will bring the three chefs together in an exciting conversation hosted by L.A. Times Senior Food Writer Jenn Harris.

Dinner Series #1 | Kato X Nightshade Collaboration Dinner

The LA Times’ 101 Best Restaurants of 2019, Kato (#1) and Nightshade (#52), kicked off the series with a collaboration dinner. Chefs Jon Yao of Kato and Mei Lin of Nightshade designed a dinner that brought the Taiwanese and Chinese influences of their respective restaurants together for a one-time-only takeout dinner. LA Times food columnist Lucas Kwan Peterson hosted the kick-off virtual dinner experience.
