2012 Los Angeles Times Travel Show FAQ
I’m confused – The Los Angeles Times 2012 Travel Show is January 27-29th at the LA Convention Center and there is also another travel-related show in Long Beach in January of 2012?
- Correct – The Times will produce its 14th annual Los Angeles Times Travel Show on January 27-29th at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This is the original Los Angeles Times Travel Show that has been serving your needs and drawing great audiences since 1999. The Long Beach event is not affiliated with the Los Angeles Times in any way.
Why choose the Los Angeles Times Travel Show?
- As always, the Los Angeles Times will utilize its vast promotional assets to create the greatest awareness for the show across Southern California. The 2012 media campaign will be worth over $2 million plus. When you participate in the Los Angeles Times Travel Show, you benefit from that marketing campaign as we drive awareness of your company and attendance to the event. No individual media outlet – TV, radio, magazine – can come close to delivering the audience of the Los Angeles Times/latimes.com – over 4,000,000 people per day. No competitive event can offer this level of awareness of your brand and its participation in an event. In addition, each exhibitor is listed multiple times, at no additional charge, in the official Los Angeles Times Travel Show Event Guide distributed to over 1 million readers of the Sunday Los Angeles Times.
- The 2012 Los Angeles Times Travel Show will be a three-day event, giving you three days for the price of two. Friday, January 27th will specifically cater to the needs of travel industry professionals with custom travel trade-based programming, followed by a late-afternoon preview of the show floor for travel industry attendees. Saturday and Sunday, January 28th and 29th, will be full-length consumer days as usual.Despite the additional day of attendees, The Times has not raised exhibitor fees for the 2012 show. In fact, we are offering the lowest exhibitor pricing, plus at a lower rate than our past Travel Shows during the month of April. On top of that discount, exhibitors who act in time will also be eligible for a free quarter-page ad in the Los Angeles Times. Contact us today for the best exhibitor pricing.
- The Los Angeles Convention Center location offers a larger base of potential attendees than any competitive Southern California travel-related event. The population of the city of Los Angeles is over 3.8 million, compared, for example, to a population of under 500,000 in the city of Long Beach. (2009 Census)
- Consistency for attendees. Approximately 20,000 attendees have been flocking to the Los Angeles Convention Center for the Los Angeles Times Travel Show for the past 3 years. Any event attempting to compete with the Los Angeles Times Travel Show will need to convince consumers to attend a differently-named show at a different location.
- The Los Angeles Times Travel Show is the travel show with the largest floor plan West of the Mississippi River and will continue to be so. The Los Angeles Convention Center offers a larger floor space than any other convention center in Southern California and the 2012 Los Angeles Times Travel Show will again fill the entire West Hall at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
- The credibility of the Los Angeles Times award-winning editorial Travel coverage. The Times Travel section is beloved and trusted throughout Southern California and the world. That credibility and our readers’ deep, ongoing relationships with our writers extends to the Los Angeles Times Travel Show.
