Taking public transportation to the festival

Metro provides bus and rail transportation to USC until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and the new Expo Line drops riders directly at the South end of the Festival of Books. From Culver City/ Downtown Los Angeles:
Take the Metro Expo Line to Expo Park/USC Station.
From Hollywood, Universal City, Mid-City:
Take the Metro Red Line to 7th Street/Metro Center Station, then transfer to the Metro Expo Line and exit Expo Park/USC Station.
From Mid-City/Wilshire Corridor area:
Take the Metro Purple Line to 7th Street/Metro Center Station, then transfer to the Metro Expo Line and exit Expo Park/USC Station
From East L.A./Pasadena:
Take the Metro Gold Line to Union Station, then hop on the Bullseye Bus (details below).
From Long Beach:
Take the Metro Blue Line to Pico Station, then transfer to the Metro Expo Line heading towards Culver City and exit Expo/Park USC Station.

The Bullseye Bus is a system of free public shuttles running in a continuous loop between Union Station (pick up/drop off at Berth 4) and USC (pick up/drop off on Jefferson at Trousdale). Multiple shuttles will run continuously beginning at 9 a.m., concluding one hour after the festival closes on both days of the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.
DOWNTOWN L.A. DASH “F” LINE
Downtown residents are encouraged to take advantage of the DASH “F” line to reach the USC campus. The DASH “F” line will operate on both days of the Festival of Books, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. DASH shuttles will pick up every 20 minutes at all “F” line stops. Fare is 50 cents. DRIVING DIRECTIONS
The USC campus is located about 2 miles southwest from Downtown and 1 mile from the intersection of the Santa Monica Freeway (I-10) and the Harbor Freeway (I-110). The most convenient freeway exit is from I-110 onto Exposition Boulevard. At the end of the exit you will see the campus on the right-hand side one block down the street. Another convenient access is to exit from Santa Monica Freeway (I-10) on Vermont south to Jefferson Boulevard.
Event Parking
Parking is available for $10 in various USC-area parking lots, including:

  • USC Lot 1
  • USC parking structures A, D, 1 and 2
  • USC parking center – 35th St. and Grand Avenue (free shuttle provided)
  • L.A. Coliseum Lot 1 (no shuttle provided)
  • L.A. Coliseum Lot 2 (free shuttle provided)
